New features available on Microsoft Intune

resetpasscode01Last night my Microsoft Intune tenants were upgraded to version 5.0.61.86.0. Some nice new features came along with the upgrade / were announced.

Let’s see what new features are part of the update. While checking the tenants for the announced features not everything is switched on, yet.

The Mobile Application Management policies for MDM-less MAM are now able to control if a user is allowed to enable the contact synchronization in the Outlook app. Which is a nice addition for MDM-less MAM scenarios since only the app and its data are managed.

Furthermore Conditional Access for Skype for Business is officially announced. See here how this works and next to the iOS 9.3 support some Windows Defender configuration policy settings for Windows 10 enrolled devices are added to the Windows 10 general configuration policy.

The users with Android, iOS, Windows 10 Mobile and Windows Phone 8.1 are now able to remotely lock their device from the company portal. Also noticed today that the user is already able to remotely reset their PIN themselves without the need to contact the service desk.

All features (except for Windows 10 Mobile policies) are available for Hybrid scenarios also.

Read the complete list of updates here.
