Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 brings more platform support.

Great news via Kent Agerlund; Yesterday at TechEd North America Wally Mead and Mark Florida announced (some of) the features and enhancements that Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 will bring us.

Some of the highlights are for instance the extra support for the following Operating Systems:

  • Windows 8
  • Windows 8 tablets
  • MAC OS X (with end point protection support)
  • Linux and Unix (with end point protection support)
  • Windows to Go Support for OSD

But also support for adding a CAS to a stand-alone Primary Site and the possibility to use the migration feature when migrating between 2 Configuration Manager 2012 sites.

Read the complete list at the blog of fellow MVP Kent Agerlund here: http://blog.coretech.dk/kea/configmgr-2012-sp1-announced-teched-2012/

Hope to hear more details in the near future at for instance TechEd Europe at the end of the month. A CTP is released later this week..
